It seemed that this should be an easy thing to do. This slideshow was just going to be shown to family as part of the celebration of the life of a loved one. If the Music menu doesn’t show your library, make sure you’re signed in with your Apple ID. When preparing a slideshow of photos last week, using the Photos app on the Mac, we were wanting to play a particular music track with that slideshow. This menu gives you access to the music library from where you can add audio to your slideshow.
To do this, when working on a slideshow project, select Music in the settings. … then create a new slideshow using Ken Burns theme (you can easily change individual transitions later as needed) … then I check the auto cropping of the individual images and adjust the frames as needed. You can create slideshows with background music from your Apple Music library. From applause to gunshots and musical instruments, the range of sounds is vast and varied, giving you all kinds of opportunities to get creative with the audio of your slideshow, as well as the visual side of it. Dwane … my process is rather simple … I select the images I want to include in the slideshow, create a new album of those new versions, apply a specific color label to those images so I know in the future they were used for this purpose … then I add any special processing that would enhance the images for the purpose … bump up saturation, apply vignettes, bump up the edge sharpening a bit more, etc. You can add a 'Happy Birthday' song for an 18th birthday slideshow, for example, or add some laughter effects when a funny photo appears.
